Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Tinkerforge Labs ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit tinkerforgelabs.com or use any of our apps, browser extensions, or online services (together, the "Services"). Individual products may have their own privacy notice. Where they do, that notice applies in addition to this one.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. This includes your name, email address, account credentials, and anything you send us in support requests or other messages.
Payment information. Stripe, Inc. processes payments for us. Card numbers and bank details go directly to Stripe, and we do not store them. Stripe tells us limited details such as your name, email, billing country, the last four digits of your card, and the status of your payments. Stripe's handling of your data is described in the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Information collected automatically. Our servers and hosting providers log basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested, and timestamps. Some products collect usage data and error reports so we can fix bugs and improve features.
Cookies. We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in and remember your settings. We do not sell data collected through cookies.
2. How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Services
- To create and manage accounts and process payments and subscriptions
- To respond to support requests and send service and billing messages
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security problems
- To comply with legal obligations
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers that work for us, such as payment processing (Stripe), cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services), and email delivery, under terms that limit their use of the data
- When required by law, subpoena, or other legal process
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of Tinkerforge Labs, our users, or others
- As part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you
- With your consent
4. Browser extensions
Our browser extensions request only the permissions they need for their stated features. Each extension's store listing and privacy notice describe what data it reads and whether any of it leaves your device. We do not sell browsing data, and we do not use it for advertising.
5. Data retention
We keep personal information while your account is active and for as long as we need it to provide the Services, meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We then delete it or make it anonymous.
6. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and other reasonable measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
You can access, correct, or delete your account information, or ask for a copy of it, by emailing us. You can opt out of non-essential emails with the unsubscribe link in each message. Depending on where you live, including California and the European Economic Area, you may have additional rights under laws such as the CCPA and GDPR. We will respond to verified requests within the time those laws require.
8. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International users
We are based in the United States and process information there. By using the Services, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and change the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will also notify account holders by email or in the product.
